Norm O’Reilly

Norm is the Richard P. & Joan S. Fox Professor and Chair of the world-ranked Department of Sports Administration in the College of Business at Ohio University.

 

In 2013, he was recognized as one of the “Five to Watch” in sport business in Canada by The Globe and Mail. Previously a faculty member at the University of Ottawa, Syracuse University, Laurentian University, and Ryerson University, Norm has also held visiting positions at Stanford University (two occasions) and the University of New South Wales in Australia. Norm is an active consultant and expert legal witness. Prior to joining academia, Norm held professional positions with Sport Canada, Triathlon Canada, and the 2008 Toronto Olympic Bid. He has been a member of the 2004, 2008, and 2010 Mission Staff for the Canadian Olympic Committee at the Olympic Games. A former varsity level swimmer and Nordic skier, Norm is an active triathlete who has completed six Ironman races and represented Canada in his age-group at five World Long Distance Triathlon Championships.
